The Salvatorian Priests and Brothers are members of the Society of the Divine Savior, an international Roman Catholic religious congregation of men who proclaim the goodness of God to the world through all ways and means that the love of Christ inspires and the Holy Spirit prompts.. Our USA headquarters is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Our international headquarters is in Rome.
Salvatorian priests and brothers minister in parishes, schools, hospitals, nursing homes, prisons, universities, and the foreign missions. Wherever there is a need... Salvatorians seek to meet it! We collaborate closely with our Salvatorian Sisters and Lay Salvatorians.

Hi! My name is Father Scott Jones, SDS. and I am the vocation director for the USA Province of the Society of the Divine Savior. My job is to help you discern your calling in life. While my ministry is specifically geared towards helping men discern a vocation to the Salvatorians, I’m always happy to meet with anyone interested in learning more about discerning God’s call in general. If you would like to talk further, please don’t hesitate to contact me:

The purpose of formation is to help the individual grow
in his Salvatorian identity while preparing to minister to
God’s People. Our formation program is as follows:

Candidates live at one of our communities in Milwaukee while working a part-time job in the area. Some candidates take classes, while others focus on their ministry. Candidates attend formation classes and work closely with their Salvatorian sponsor to discern whether or not to enter novitiate.

Novitiate is a one year program of immersion into Salvatorian
religious life. Novices live at the novitiate and take classes on Salvatorian life and
identity. Prayer, liturgy, community life and a part-
time volunteer ministry are all part of the novice life.
A major focus of the novitiate is to discern readiness to take the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience in the Society of the Divine Savior.

Salvatorian Mission Statement
"We Salvatorians are called to follow Jesus Christ,
the Divine Savior,
by living as community
within the universal Church
for apostolic service.
As with our Founder, Father Francis Jordan,
we proclaim to all people
the salvation which has appeared
in Jesus Christ,
so that by the lives we live and in our apostolic activities,
all may come "to know You,
the only
true God,
and Jesus Christ whom You have sent," (John 17:3)

Temporary vows are taken annually for a minimum of three years. During this time, the member prepares for ministry as a Salvatorian priest or brother. Seminarians participate in the four-year program of studies at Sacred Heart School of Theology in Hales Corners, Wisconsin.
Brothers take classes geared toward the type of ministry they will do. (Some brothers who are already prepared for ministry begin professional ministry at this time.) Both seminarians and brothers complete a year of supervised apostolic ministry prior to final vows.

At the completion of the period of temporary vows, the
member takes final vows as a member of the Society
of the Divine Savior. Those preparing for ordination
are normally ordained a deacon at the beginning of
their fourth year of seminary studies, with ordination to
priesthood following the completion of the masters of
divinity studies.

While initial formation eventually comes to an end, each Salvatorian priest or brother continues his Salvatorian formation throughout the rest of his life. As Salvatorians, we commit ourselves to ongoing growth and reflection on the meaning of being a Salvatorian who proclaims Christ’s love to the world.
